2025 Dragon Challenge
Hey Dragons The 2025 Dragon Challenge is here! It is our New Competition format that is intended to accomplish TWO things:
1. The Dragon Challenge will be our replacement for the MADMeet Competitions that were held for many years at Rising Sun. A new format, that replaces the 3-Team MADMeet, will be teams of 4 competitors. Each team will consist of 1-Advanced, 1-Intermediate, 1-Novice and 1-Beginner. The events will be Kata, Weapons and Kumite, with each team member competing in one of the three events. All of the competitions will be held at Rising Sun during the last 15 minutes of class. There is no cost to compete in the Dragon Challenge. Competitions will begin in April and a complete schedule, along with the teams is listed below. There will also be a Championship involving ALL teams. That information will be in the upcoming schedule.
2. The Dragon Challenge will also be a recruitment drive for Rising Sun Karate as well. You noticed that each team will have a beginner division. That division is for potential new students that join our April Beginner Karate program. We are asking ALL teams to try to recruit 1 new student to join our Beginner program and participate on their team. Teams that are able to recruit a beginner will have an advantage during the Dragon Challenge Competitions. This is an important part of the event. We need your help to bring in new students to our program!
