A FEW THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT OUR PROGRAM BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

Welcome to Rising Sun Karate’s Fighting 40. We are embarking on a new journey in our Martial Art’s training.

· This program is designed for not only you to see what we do, but for me to see if you can do what we ask.

· This is OUR Dojo. OUR Place of Learning. So keep it, and all training equipment and mats neat, clean and in good order. The best rule to follow, as with anywhere else you may go, is to “Make a place as nice, or better, than it was when you arrived”.

· At the designated line to enter the training area, always remember to bow before and after class when entering and exiting the training area.

· Always keep your uniform and belt in a neat and clean condition. Belts should never touch the floor, unless you are on the floor. Our belt, or obi, is considered a part of us. You should always show respect towards your belt, because it is a symbol of you and what you have learned. Be proud of yourself, and be proud of the belt that you have earned. Advancing to the next rank in Hinode-Ryu Karate is something you will earn, not something that just happens.

· Parents, spectators are not permitted in the training area during classes. This helps us to keep the noise to a minimum during classes.

· Students should always bring their sparring gear, uniforms (T-Shirts), belts to every “In-Class” session.

· Later we’ll talk about tuition. Even though the parents will pay the tuition, I ask the students to listen so they understand what is asked of them. When the parents pay, it’s not for a babysitting service. It’s an investment in building the student’s character, discipline and respect.

· Student’s; you need to pay your parents back for this investment. And it’s not with money, it’s with earning that next rank.

· If you are sure that you will continue training, go to RisingSunMA.com, then to “Pro Shop” to order your “Beginner Package” uniform. Select your sizes then click submit. (The size for the Top, Pants and Belt should all be the same) When you submit the form, I will be able to tell if the size is far off and will contact you to make any adjustments.

· After you receive your uniform and belt, you will be able to also attend the classes on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Friday’s.

#2 I understand that with acceptance into this program, I will make prompt payments of any tuition and testing fees when they are due.

#4 I understand that with acceptance into this program, I understand that any time off from training may result in a forfeiture of my spot to someone on the waiting list.

#5 I understand that with acceptance into this program, I am acknowledging that all "In-Class" training, as well as all Rank Advancement Testing will be video recorded for Rising Sun's review purposes only and will NOT be available online or for any student to review.

#6 I understand that with acceptance into this program, I am acknowledging that Rank Advancement testing will be scheduled up to one year in advance and failure to attend that test will result in no rank advancement for that cycle. There will be NO make-up tests available.

Rising Sun Martial Arts Inc. Training Waiver

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any program offered by Rising Sun Martial Arts, Inc., including Martial Arts classes, or any other activity sponsored by or associated with Rising Sun Martial Arts, Inc., and intending to be legally bound, the undersigned do hereby acknowledge that this waiver must be properly signed before membership may be granted and do also hereby:

1. Acknowledge and fully understand that each participant will be engaging in activities which involve risk of serious injury, including permanent disability and death, and severe social and economic losses which might result not only from their own actions, inactions or negligence, but the actions, inactions or negligence of others and/or the condition of the premises or of any equipment used. Further, that there may be other risks not known to us or not reasonably foreseeable at this time.

2. Assume all of the foregoing risk and accept personal responsibility for the damages following such injury, permanent disability, sickness or death on my own behalf and on the behalf of any participant, including minors that I may include on my membership or bring as a guest.

3. Agree that the undersigned will instruct all participants, including minors, that may be included on my membership, or who may be a guest, that prior to participating in any Martial Arts classes, or any other activity sponsored by or associated with Rising Sun Martial Arts, Inc., he or she should inspect the facility and equipment to be used, and if the participant believes anything is unsafe, he or she should immediately advise management of the situation and such condition(s) and refuse to participate.

4. Release, waiver and discharge and covenant not to sue Rising Sun Martial Arts, Inc. and/or its respective administrators, directors, agents, shareholders, instructors, and/or other employees of the organization, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and/or owners and lessors of premises, including all outside locations, used to conduct Martial Arts classes, or any other activity sponsored by or associated with Rising Sun Martial Arts, Inc., all of whom are hereinafter referred to as "releases", from any or all liability to each of the undersigned, his or her heirs and the next of kin for any and all claims, demands, losses or damages on account for injury or sickness, including death or damage to property, caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the releases or otherwise.

I/WE HAVE READ THE ABOVE WAIVER AND RELEASE. I/WE UNDERSTAND THAT WE HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT AND I/WE HAVE SIGNED IT VOLUNTARILY IN CONSIDERATION OF BEING ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY AND ALL Martial Arts classes, fitness center use, weight training or any other activity sponsored by or associated with Rising Sun Martial Arts, Inc. Rising Sun Martial Arts, Inc. reserves the right to deny entry into its’ facility and also refuse training to anyone.
